What's good
- TripleShot transducer delivers CHIRP, DownScan and SideScan from a single mount
- Autotuning sonar means it works well without you learning the menus
- FishReveal overlays sonar returns on DownScan imagery, which makes fish obvious to a beginner
- Genuinely good performance per dollar in the 10 to 60-foot range
What isn't
- Base charts are poor; you need to buy a C-MAP or Navionics card for real Great Lakes navigation
- The unit loses bottom lock at trolling speeds above about 3 mph in a chop
- Processor is slow — screen redraw lags noticeably when you pan the chart
