What's good
- Built-in GPS lets it build a real bathymetric map from shore casts, which nothing else in this price range does
- Genuinely useful off a breakwall or pier where you have no other way to know depth
- Works in an ice hole and in a kayak with no mounting or wiring
- Runs about 5 hours per charge, enough for a session
What isn't
- Wi-Fi link to the phone drops past roughly 100 feet and in cold weather the phone dies first
- Depth reading is unreliable past about 80 feet and useless past 130
- The app has a subscription tier for the good mapping features, which is not obvious at purchase
