- Thinner diameter than nylon lead core, so it dives deeper per color at the same speed
- Metered color change every 10 yards makes depth repeatable without a counter
- Braid jacket resists the abrasion that shreds nylon core at the guides
- Fits more colors on a reel, which matters when you want 10 colors out
What isn't
- If you kink the lead wire inside the jacket it stays kinked and the line runs crooked forever
- Splicing to backing and leader takes practice; a bad splice fails under load on a fish
